Erasmus Mundus External Cooperation Window - Types of scholarships
The call for application will be opened on October 6, 2009, and will be closed on November 21 (23H00 CET), 2009.


WILLPower provides 210 grants for undergraduate, doctoral, post-doc students and teaching staff:

. 63 for Europeans;
. 147 for Indians (127 for Target Group I (partners of the WILLPower programme);
. 20 for Target Group II (non partners of the WILLPower programme).
The mobility will start by February 2010, in the beginning of the second half of the European academic year. the latest individual mobility will start before september 1, 2009.

A period of undergraduate study lasts from 6 to 10 months, corresponding to one or two semesters. A period of doctoral studies lasts from 6 to 34 months, and a period of a visiting lectureship lasts 2 months, always depending on the project.

Please remember that these numbers are approximative, depending on the final number of applications. Each scholarship covers travel expenses, living costs and health insurance costs.

Target Group I:
. students and academic staff registered in one of the universities members of the partnership

Target Group II:
. nationals of the Third-countries concerned by the geographical lot, registered in a higher education institution of these counties not included in the partnership or having obtained a university degree or equivalent by an institution of these countries. This includes the possibility of providing mobility opportunities to Third-country nationals working in public administration, public and private enterprises



The European Commission contributes to cover the subsistence costs, and where applicable, tuition fees for mobile students and academic staff. The grant amount allocated for the coverage of these costs is calculated on the basis of unitcosts detailed in the table below.
